Chain discounter opening soon in Fresno. Raising Cane’s, Dutch Bros still coming nearby

Discount retailer dd’s DISCOUNTS will open its newest store later this month in southeast Fresno.

It’s part of a shopping center that’s getting a big revamp at the northwest corner of East Kings Canyon Road and South Willow Avenue.

The store will open Saturday, Sept. 23.

It’s taking over the spot once occupied by Fallas Parades.

Part of the same company that owns Ross Dress for Less, dd’s DISCOUNTS is an extreme discounter, offering 20% to 70% off clothing, accessories, shoes and home items.

Raising Cane’s/Dutch Bros

Now home to a 99 Cents Only store, the same corner is also slated to get fast food drive-thru restaurant Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers and a Dutch Bros Coffee drive-thru.

Both have signed leases and will build stand-alone buildings near Kings Canyon, according to the property owner.

Raising Cane’s will come first, said Patrick Wood, CEO of Wood Investments Companies, which owns the center. A conditional-use permit for the restaurant has been approved and he said it’s on track to open during the first three months of 2024.

The Dutch Bros is on hold until the first phase of work on the center, including cleaning it up, is finished, he said.
