Chainsaw carving, live music and a beef show? A guide to the 2022 Woodstock Fair.

The 161st Woodstock Fair kicks off Friday, Sept. 2 in South Woodstock, Connecticut, and runs through Labor Day Monday, Sept. 5.

The popular event attracts attendees in droves. Organized by the Woodstock Agricultural Society, the fair features various farm animals - including cows, sheep, horses, goats and oxen - in shows and associated competitions, from wool-shearing to pony pulls.

There are plenty of unusual competitions for human beings, too, from the crawling babies-only Diaper Dash to grapefruit bowling to pumpkin decorating. Live music and shows run all four days on two stages. In addition to a handful of bands, attendees can take in juggling, martial arts demonstrations, balloon sculpting, sand sculptures and chainsaw carving.

On Saturday night, there's even karaoke.

The fair also includes a carnival and midway, as well as food typical to a fair.
