Thursday

Eclipse Show

3 p.m., Thursday through Sunday weekly, Koch Immersive Theater and Planetarium, 411 SE Riverside Drive. Cost included in museum admission, which is between $8 and $12.

This eclipse-oriented planetarium show demonstrates a simulation of the conditions that produce a solar and lunar eclipse.

Scottish-American comedian and actor Craig Ferguson is stopping in Evansville on his "The Fancy Rascal" tour.

Tri-State Amateur Comedy Contest

8 p.m., Jennings Street Public House, 300 W. Jennings St. in Newburgh. Free.

This is the finale of the comedy competition series that features the top amateur comedians from the community each doing three to five minutes of original material.

Friday

Bluegrass Chainsaw Showdown

Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Holiday Inn Owensboro Riverfront, 701 W. First St. Owensboro, Kentucky.

Come watch as 10 chainsaw carvers battle it out to determine who is the best. Throughout the three days, the participants will carve an eight-foot log for their main piece based on their own interpretations, followed by a few carving competitions in between the main piece. Each day ends with a public auction of finished sculptures.

Night Market

5 to 8 p.m., Downtown Evansville EID, 318 Main St. Free.

This evening market event will feature local makers, vendors, locally grown produce, live music, food trucks, and entertainment.

Candlelight Series

6 p.m., St. Benedict Cathedral, 1328 Lincoln Ave. Tickets range from $23 to $46.

This concert series brings the magic of a live, multi-sensory musical experience in different locations throughout Evansville. This series will feature works from Vivaldi, Jules Massenet, Max Richter and Astor Piazzolla.

UE 2023 Fiddick Lecture

7 p.m., Eykamp Hall, 1800 Lincoln Ave. Free.

The University of Evansville Department of History, Politics, and Social Change is hosting Fredrik Logevall, professor and U.S. politics specialist, to deliver his lecture on "John Kennedy and the Promise of Freedom" which will mark the 60th anniversary of the JFK assassination.

Saturday

Old Courthouse Craft Show

Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Old Vanderburgh Courthouse, 201 NW Fourth St. Entry is $1 and free for children 10 and under.

There will be four floors of vendors and a craft booth on the lawn for attendees

Evansville Thunderbolts

7 p.m., Ford Center, 1 SE Martin Luther King Drive. Tickets range from $16 to $35.

Join the Evansville Thunderbolts for Military Appreciation Night as they take on the Huntsville Havoc.

Community Dance

7 to 11 p.m., Evansville Coliseum, 300 Court St, Admission is $10

Non-profit Metro Ballroom Club is hosting a community dance where they will be teaching a 30-minute, beginner-level Bachata lesson to attendees leading up to the open dance for the rest of the night. Ages high school and up are welcome.

EPO: New Traditions Diversity Series

2 p.m., Willard Public Library, 21 N. First Ave. Free.

Members of the Eykamp String Quartet will play works by composers Nikolaj Busk, Lamberto Piumi, Piotr Szewczyk, Allison Loggin-Hull and Caroline Shaw.
