Chaka Khan, Charlie Wilson, David Sanborn added to Jacksonville Jazz Fest lineup

Some heavy-hitters have been added to the 2023 Jacksonville Jazz Festival lineup in the past few days.
On Tuesday, the festival announced on social media that Grammy-award winning artist Chaka Khan would be performing at the Swingin’ Stage at the Memorial Day-weekend fest on Saturday, May 27.

Other lineup adds include Charlie Wilson, former Gap Band singer also known as “Uncle Charlie,” and alto saxophonist David Sanborn, who will perform on Sunday, May 28. Wilson will play the Swingin’ Stage and Sanborn will take the Groovin’ Stage.
As of Tuesday, the Jazz Fest’s website showed five performer spots left to be announced.

The Jazz Fest kicks off on Thursday night with a piano competition at The Florida Theatre. Friday, Saturday and Sunday are three days filled with performances on two different stages, one at Riverfront Plaza and one at Ford on Bay.
