A new challenge is in the works with pikes peak as the focal point. A trail called "Ring the peak" will completely encircle America's mountain. The first challenge is getting the many land interests around the peak on-board. Speaking with Mayor Suthers, recently he said he wants to see the trail completed in the next couple of years. You can already go bottom to top, so we also asked trail advocates, why a trail around the mountain.
Other than a few isolated showers and thundersorms over the mountains and mountain valleys, the threat for rain tonight appears to be very low along and east of the I-25 corridor. With skies turning mostly clear later tonight, overnight lows will cool down to the 40s in the mountains, with a mix of 50s and 60s for the Plains.
