On whole, 2021 was a great year for Ardmore. From the expansion of Dollar General’s distribution footprint to the development of the Global Transportation and Industrial Park at the Ardmore Industrial Airpark, and the announcement of Woodside Energy’s H2OK project, we should all be proud and excited about the growth of our community. The end of January is now fast approaching, and that momentum is already carrying into 2022 and your team at the Ardmore Development Authority is not slowing down.

Each January our team participates in the Oklahoma Reception in Dallas along with other communities from across the state and representatives from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. Guests at the reception include corporate site location consultants from Dallas. Multiple conversations about Ardmore and how our community can play into existing and upcoming projects took place with the people that can help make that happen.

This week we also had the opportunity to show Ardmore off to Oklahoma Secretary of Commerce Scott Mueller. Over the course of the day, it was discussed multiple times that as a community, we have invested in ourselves throughout the years and that those investments (whether in physical assets like streets and infrastructure or feasibility studies) are now paying off in the form of economic expansion and opportunity for our citizens.

There are several exciting things happening in the next few months that you can also expect to hear more about. The findings from the housing study we commissioned will be released in early February. Please take time to read it and engage with our team. Planning has also begun for the annual Oklahoma Lt. Governor’s Turkey Hunt, which Ardmore has been one of nine host communities for the past several years. The Turkey Hunt would not happen without the support of local businesses who participate and to them we cannot express our gratitude enough. You can also look forward to more new companies calling Ardmore home.

The future of Ardmore is brighter than it has ever been. Our team is working diligently to embrace that momentum and move the whole of our community forward. The next twelve months are sure to be some of the most exciting. As we like to say “stay tuned!”
