Champaign Co. dentists offering free dental services for Give Kids a Smile Day

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — As part of Give Kids a Smile Day on February 10, Parkland College will host several volunteer dentists and hygienists in Champaign County to give children free dental services.

Services will be provided from 8:00 a.m. to noon at the Parkland College Dental Hygiene Clinic in Champaign at 2400 West Bradley Avenue. Children ages one to 17 will be offered free dental exams, cleanings and fluoride treatments. The event will also offer dental hygiene education, free toothbrushes and a photo opportunity with the one and only Tooth Fairy.

This effort is part of the American Dental Association’s Children’s Dental Access Program, which provides free dental services to children in low-income families. However, Give Kids a Smile Day does not require any certain income or residency to receive services.

No appointments are needed. Parents must accompany attending children.

This event is sponsored by the Illini District Dental Society in partnership with the Parkland College Dental Hygiene program and the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District.
