“The Syrian war, unrest in Belarus, Russian troops in Kazakhstan, flaring up Nagorno-Karabakh (conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan), Georgian elections, Moldova’s Transnistria – they are all parts of the same problem,” said Mylovanov.

“We’re dealing with Russia – an authoritarian regime, eager to aggressively use force to achieve its political goals.”
According to Mylovanov, these conflicts are fueled by Moscow, who “holds the world hostage,” Europe especially.

“It’s necessary to change Russian behavior; the question isn’t about the terms Ukraine should make peace with Russia on; the correct question is how the world can alter Russian behavior in the next 10, 20, 50 years,” Mylovanov added.
“Until Russia loses, it won’t change its conduct, unfortunately; it might lose in Ukraine or in some other conflict or war; but it has to lose first.”
