Changes coming to The Patriot Ledger comics pages: What you'll get

Did you pick up your Patriot Ledger or log into your enewspaper and immediately go to the comics section to start your day off on a funny note?

If you did, you probably aren't alone.

Comics have been a mainstay in newspapers and that isn't changing. But the media business has always been about evolution, and change is coming to your daily and Weekend comics beginning Oct. 2.

Going forward, weekday editions will now have Blondie, Zits, Beetle Bailey, Family Circus, Hagar, Dennis the Menace, Garfield, Peanuts, For Better or Worse, Baby Blues and Pickles.

Your Weekend edition will now have Blondie, Zits, Beetle Bailey, Family Circus, Hagar, Dennis the Menace, Garfield, Peanuts, For Better or Worse, Baby Blues, Pickles and Foxtrot.

Comics are popular − we understand that. My dad has always been a Frank & Ernest guy. I recall that as a kid it would always make him laugh out loud. Then, he'd walk over, put the paper in front of me and point to be sure I didn't miss it. I haven't been a kid in many years − but he still does it when I visit. And I probably understand the comic better now, too. Because many comics are for us adults.

Even more offerings will be available to our digital subscribers at www.patriotledger.com/comics.

Your subscription price is not affected by the change.

Comic offerings have historically evolved to reflect the culture and tastes of the times. As a trusted source of local news and content in communities across the country, the USA Today Network continuously evaluates our content and how to best serve our audiences.
