Changing the conversation about traumatic brain injuries, challenges with healing

Three decades after a traumatic brain injury, a Maryland woman is spreading awareness during Brain Injury Awareness Month. On Wednesday, 11 News reported the story of Adrienne Walker-Pittman, who suffered a traumatic brain injury almost three decades ago. In the second part of her story, 11 News delves into what makes these injuries so difficult to recover from, why insurance remains a challenge and how caregivers are impacted. "The greatest challenge is that every brain is different, every brain injury is different, and every brain injury recovery is different," said Bryan Pugh, executive director for the Brain Injury Association of Maryland.
