Channel 9-KTSM anchor Natassia Paloma bids farewell to viewers

Channel 9-KTSM anchor Natassia Paloma Thompson announced Thursday morning she is leaving the station after six years.

"After nearly six years, this is my last month at KTSM. Thank you for always being there, rooting me on, and allowing me to share your stories," Thompson said in her Facebook post.

The anchor, who is from El Paso and a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso, said her last day at the station will be Dec. 15.

She did not elaborate on her plans in the post but said, "I love you with all my corazon El Paso! You will always be home."

The young mother returned to the station in August after maternity leave. She and her husband, Trevor J. Thompson, also a KTSM news anchor, have two children.

She did tell the El Paso Times being in the news takes a lot of time from family and hinted at moving from El Paso and a new opportunity for her husband. Her husband confirmed on his Twitter account he has a month left at KTSM but did not share what he will be doing.

"I'm taking some time to spend quality time with them before I move on to the next chapter in my career," she told the Times. "My heart really hurts. I'm going to miss El Paso so much!"

KTSM is the NBC affiliate serving El Paso and Las Cruces.
