Channel League chooses its best of the 2022 fall sports season

Josh Joyner of Pacifica was named the Most Valuable Player of the Pacific View League for the 2022 football season.

Santa Barbara quarterback Abel Renteria was named the Offensive Player of the Year and Ventura quarterback Zane Carter was named the Offensive Back of the Year. Kai Mault of Santa Barbara was named the Wide Receiver of the Year. Tobias Raymond of Ventura was named the Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Sal Maria of Rio Mesa earned Defensive Player of the Year honors. Antione Henderson of Pacifica and Dominick Jones of Rio Mesa were the co-Defensive Lineman of the Year. Jordan Whitney of Pacifica was named the Linebacker of the Year. Dayton Aupiu of Pacifica was named the Defensive Back of the Year. Rio Mesa wide receiver/defensive back Henry Borjas was named the Utility Player of the Year.

The first-team offense consists of linemen Anthony Garcia of Rio Mesa, AJ Gomez of Santa Barbara, Miles Medina of Buena, and Ebrahim Alfar-Diaz of San Marcos; backs Phillip Kim of Pacifica, JJ Bittner of Rio Mesa, Nathan Barrios of Santa Barbara, and Andre McCullough of San Marcos; and wide receivers Elijah Aragon of Oxnard, Savion Taylor and Tommy Alfaro of Pacifica, and Colin Guenther of Buena.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Sadie Engelhardt of Ventura was the league champion and Runner of the Year.
