The Border War is back.

Missouri men's basketball (5-4) will face the No. 7 Kansas Jayhawks (8-1) on Saturday at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kan. on Saturday, Dec. 11 for the first time since a charity exhibition game in 2017, and for the first time in true competition since Kansas' nail-biting 87–86 victory over the Tigers in 2012, just before Missouri departed for the Southeastern Conference.

Young and inexperienced, with only two returning starters from last season's NCAA Tournament team, Missouri clings to a positive win-loss record in non-conference play after dropping games to Florida State, Wichita State, Liberty and UMKC. Kansas, meanwhile, would be undefeated if not for an upset loss to Dayton on Black Friday.

The Jayhawks lead the all-time series 172-95, having first played in March 1907.

Kansas will host the showdown in the new six-game series in 2023, while Mizzou Arena will be the venue for the 2022 and 2024 clashes. The Sprint Center in Kansas City will be the home of the final two currently scheduled matchups in 2025 and 2026.
