What channel is Mizzou football on? How to watch South Carolina vs. Missouri, kickoff time, betting odds

This weekend, Missouri returns to Faurot Field for the “Battle of Columbia” against South Carolina.

The Gamecocks, led by first-year head coach Shane Beamer, enter Saturday’s game on the heels of a 40-17 victory over Florida at Williams-Brice Stadium. With third-string quarterback Jason Brown at the helm of the South Carolina, the Gamecocks (5-4) racked up 459 total yards in their best offensive performance of the year. Tailback Kevin Harris was the team’s leading rusher with 128 yards on 16 carries. Josh Vann was South Carolina’s top receiver with seven catches for 111 yards and a touchdown.

Mizzou is looking to bounce back from last weekend’s 43-6 loss to top-ranked Georgia. The Tigers were held to 273 total yards and two field goals in Athens. This week, Missouri hopes to have a better showing against another SEC East rival.

Here’s how you can catch Saturday’s game.

Fight for the Mayor’s Cup

The “Battle of Columbia” isn’t just a catchy name for the annual game between Missouri and South Carolina. Both teams are playing for bragging rights and a trophy.

The Mayor’s Cup has been the prize for the rivalry game since the Tigers joined the SEC in 2012. The series has seen South Carolina win five of the nine meetings, but Mizzou has captured each of the last two contests for the cup. Last year, Missouri defeated South Carolina 17-10 on the road to hold on to the Mayor’s Cup for another year.

The winner keeps the trophy for a year until the two teams meet again the following season. Mizzou is hoping to keep it in their facility.

“You’ve got an opportunity to claim a tangible benefit after the game,” Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz said during Tuesday’s press conference. “And so, really, that’s our focus - our personal pride and our performance, an opportunity to not only represent the front of the jersey, the back of the jersey, but to claim a trophy at the end.”
