Channing Tatum and music producer Scooter Braun bringing young adult-themed ‘Lady Macbeth’ musical to Amazon

Channing Tatum has teamed up with pop music uber manager Scooter Braun to produce a young adult-focused musical adaptation of Lady Macbeth.

The Hollywood Reporter notes the project is being produced by Amazon Studios, and directed by John McPhail, the British director and screenwriter who helmed the zombie horror comedy musical “Anna and the Apocalypse.”

According to the industry trade outlet, the plot of the project is hush-hush, but reportedly centers on a teenage girl, who — like Shakespeare’s diabolical character — sees her ambition become her own undoing.

Braun handles the careers of superstar pop acts including Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, and Ariana Grande.

Tatum’s breakout role in 2006 1/4 u2032s “She’s the Man,” which drew inspiration from the famous Bard’s “Twelfth Night” play. The 44-year-old is known for “Magic Mike.”

Lady Macbeth is the leading character in William Shakespeare’s tragedy “Macbeth” — the wife of the Scottish general who goads her husband into killing the king, after which she becomes queen of Scotland.

Through the years, the role of Lady Macbeth has attracted many great actresses, including Dame Judi Dench, Marion Cotillard, Angela Bassett and the late, great opera singer Shirley Verrett.
