Apr. 9—CHAPLIN — Local children out of school during their spring break next week can still be educated while entertained with two programs scheduled at the Chaplin Public Library.

On Saturday, April 10, a program on the " Secret Lives of Owls" will be presented on the grounds of the library, located at 130 Chaplin St.

Presented by the Ashford-based, nonprofit raptor rehabilitation organization, Horizon Wings, the program will be held at 11 a. m.

In the event of inclement weather, the rain date will be the same time and place but on Saturday, April 17.

The program is open to all ages, and attendees will learn about the species that normally flit about unseen in the dark. Horizon Wings will discuss the differences between barn owls, barred owls, Eastern screech owls and great horned owls, and bring some live birds the group has rescued and rehabilitated to visit as well.

On Wednesday, April 14, a " Rock Painting" program will take place at the pavilion located at the Edward Garrison Park at 495 Phoenixville Road/ Route 198.

Children and families can paint rocks using materials provided they can later place in their own yards or along local trails for others to find.

This will be held from 1 to 2 p. m.

The rain date will be on Friday, April 16.

Social distances will be maintained during the programs and masks are required in order to attend.

For more information on either program, contact the library at 860-4559424.
