Chapman runs for Raleigh County Circuit Clerk

BECKLEY (WVNS) — Election day in Raleigh County will soon be underway.

One of the positions to be filled is who will be elected as the Raleigh County Circuit Clerk. One of the candidates running for office is James Paul Chapman.

Chapman has worked at the circuit clerk’s office for 13 plus years. The circuit clerk is a person who oversees and manages all court proceedings in the county. The clerk is also responsible for preserving cases and evidence, oversees jurors, and processes appeals to the State Appellate courts.

Chapman currently serves as the Deputy Clerk.

When the position came available, I decided that we needed someone in that office with experience. Over the last thirteen and a half years, I’ve been working in that office serving the citizens of Raleigh County. The goals that I have is just to remain positive and to make sure we are there to help anyone who enters our office.
