Chardon Schools welcomes Chardon Area Chamber of Commerce

Oct. 7—Chardon Schools welcomed the Chardon Area Chamber of Commerce on Sept. 14 to a State of the Schools / 4Es and Community Connections presentation, a networking and luncheon event hosted by the district at Chardon High School.

Chamber leadership, including Executive Director Melissa Ricco and board President Cathy Peters, helped make the event a success through their coordinating and advertising efforts, according to a news release from Chardon Schools.

The State of the Schools presentation was led by Superintendent Michael Hanlon and Treasurer/CFO Deb Armbruster, discussing the district's upcoming new five-year success plan and the district's solid financial position, respectively.

The Chardon 4Es and Community Connections panel, introduced by CHS Principal Doug Murray, focused on the four post-graduation opportunities for students — enrollment, enlistment, employment and entrepreneurship and opportunities for community members to support this 4Es career-readiness mission in our schools.

The panel comprised district faculty and students, as well as board member CJ Paterniti, presenting on a few examples of the many innovative learning programs established in Chardon Schools.
