Charles Omenihu is giving away free Peacock subscriptions to Chiefs fans

The Chiefs have become one of the most popular sports team in the country, and fans can be found in all 50 states.
That popularity explains why Chiefs games dominated TV prime-time ratings in 2023.
So when the NFL put Saturday’s Wild Card game against the Miami Dolphins steam on NBC’s Peacock streaming service, it left those fans steaming. Only fans in Kansas City and Miami can watch it on an over-the-air channel.
Chiefs defensive tackle Charles Omenihu also was surprised by the NFL’s decision, and he mentioned it on X (née Twitter).
“Us playing on peacock ONLY is insane I won’t lie,” Omenihu wrote Monday.

That generated more than 300 comments from fans, and gave Omenihu an idea. Maybe he could help Chiefs Kingdom watch the game.
On Tuesday night, Omenihu returned to X with an offer for fans.
“Alright Chiefs Kingdom, I saw the comments and want y’all to be able to watch us play…So, I’m giving away 90 3-month Peacock memberships!” wrote Omenihu, who wears jersey No. 90. “To enter to win, reply to this tweet with why you should get picked. Picking winners Friday!”

You need to be on X to be eligible to get the free subscription from Omenihu, so if you’re not, sign up for the free social-media platform and reply to the tweet here.
Here’s guessing Omenihu is going to have a tough time picking just 90 people for the free subscriptions. More than 2,000 people had responded as of Wednesday morning.
People loved Omenihu’s generosity. Here is what some of them were saying and those who hope to take him up on the offer.
This guy is such a great person. I don’t need it but if you do, go reply to @charless_94’s tweet for your chance to win a 3 month Peacock membership. #ChiefsKingdom https://t.co/DCBXboMd1p

You are awesome! Our family loves to watch the Chiefs, including my two year old daughter, Hazel, and 5 year old son, Tate! They absolutely love to cheer you guys on. We don’t have Peacock and live about 4.5 hours from KC. ️ This was for Hazel’s 1st Chiefs Super Bowl!! pic.twitter.com/2jR8KS7gO9

This is a brilliant gesture and I’m not even a KC fan.

KC fan in Charlotte. Where I don’t have NBC at all because of Directv’s fight with Tegna — so will miss 3 games this weekend! Watching the Chiefs win in the cold sure would help! pic.twitter.com/vPic3KjEV8
