A Charleston brewery is moving into the former Bhramari Brewing Co. spot in Charlotte

South Carolina-based Frothy Beard Brewing Co. — known for hosting fun events such as drag shows, NerdFest for gamers and cosplayers and Killer Queen League arcade play — is expanding to Charlotte in August.

“We are beyond excited to bring Frothy Beard to Charlotte,” co-owner Michael Biondi told CharlotteFive. “We are a community focused brewery and taproom that combines quality beer, great food and unique events in order to just have fun mixed with a bit of nostalgia for the ‘80s, ‘90s and nerd culture. With the new brewing space we will have the opportunity to add some fun new beers to our list for Charlotte to taste alongside our core beers and our specialty brews coming out of Charleston!”

The brewery got its start in Charleston and has a location in Summerville. Axios Charlotte first reported the news. In Charlotte, it will be moving in to the former Bhramari Brewing Co. spot in South End.

The food menus will be similar to the brewery’s Charleston offerings, with burgers and salads, pizzas and wings. Look for specialty pies such as the Bacon & Brussels ($15), with an olive oil and garlic base, mozzarella, Brussels sprouts, bacon and balsamic glaze, along with build-your-own pizzadillas.
