Charleston Streets Flooded as Hurricane Ian Nears Landfall

Heavy rain hit Charleston, South Carolina, as the National Hurricane Center said that Hurricane Ian, which “accelerated” toward the state, on Friday, September 30, was expected to bring “life-threatening storm surge and damaging winds."

The National Weather Service told people to prepare for flooding and storm damage, saying 75 mph (120 km/h) wind gusts were expected.
