Charlotte Augenstein sets personal best, earns top ten spot in UGA history

Mar. 25—Former Deerfield-Windsor standout and now Georgia Bulldog Charlotte Augenstein ran one of her school's top 10 times in history to wrap up the Raleigh Relays on Friday for the Bulldogs.

Augenstein, an Albany native, registered the ninth-best 1,500-meter time in school history to complete her race in the top 20.

Augenstein trimmed six seconds off her previous personal best in the 1,500 to take 20th with a 4:22.08. Simon Rojas also completed the race with the fastest time of her career (4:29.92) for 63rd place while Lily Cincole posted a personal record (4:38.78) to take 132nd in the 185-woman field.

Another top-20 finish came as Gracie O'Neal took 20th in the 3000m steeplechase after she completed her laps in 10:56.64 and her teammate Lorel Golden finished five spots behind with a 11:06.93.

Charlotte is the daughter of Ralf Augenstein and Hanna Lin.
