Charlotte community comes together to give families Thanksgiving meals

The Charlotte community is coming together to ensure families in need will have a meal on Thanksgiving.

According to the American Farm Bureau, the cost of a Thanksgiving meal this year is expected to be 20% higher than in 2021.

Those rising costs mean more families are looking to nonprofits for help.

Channel 9′s Gina Espositio was with one of those nonprofits as people dropped off turkeys and other donations to support those who are less fortunate.

“We just want to give back something, so we buy 10 meals every year. Turkey, potatoes, dressing and all the fixing(s). We donate it down here,” donor Bruce Beegle said.
