Ahead of the spring home-buying season, one Charlotte neighborhood was considered among the best in the area to purchase a property.
Home sales ticked up for the first time in months in February, and real estate data showed home prices are “down slightly” from this time last year, The Charlotte Observer previously reported.
Colonial Village, just a few miles outside uptown, was ranked as the top neighborhood in Charlotte by Niche. It ranked highly for its public schools, housing, and nightlife.
The ranking was compiled based on multiple factors like home values, property taxes, homeownership rates, housing costs, and real estate trends using data from the U.S. Census, FBI, and other data sources.
“We love that it’s centrally located and so close to everything. It’s less than 10 mins to uptown, and the entire neighborhood is within walking distance to South end, and Dilworth area bars, breweries, and restaurants, as well as the light rail,” a Colonial Village resident wrote about the neighborhood.
According to Niche, the median home value in the neighborhood is $417,400, and the average rent is $1,714.
Across state lines, Fort Mill and India Hook in South Carolina were also noted for their public schools, housing, and being a good area for families.
