This Charlotte restaurant is adding brunch to its lineup. Check out the offerings.

BOCADO Bar & Diner in South End now serves brunch on the weekends.

If it weren’t for brunch, weekend mornings would be so much more tragic. So when a Charlotte restaurant has brunch news to share, we’re already smelling the freshly brewed coffee.

BOCADO Bar & Diner in South End (in the former Big Ben space) will begin serving brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m., starting this Saturday, October 16.

That’s just in time for a massive cold front to start rolling in, according to The Charlotte Observer. Those Buttermilk Hot Cakes topped with butter and real maple syrup are going to taste so much better in sweater weather.

Here are some other menu items to get you out of bed:

  • Milky French Toast: Real maple syrup and a choice of smoked bacon or breakfast sausage;

  • Sizzle Platter: Local sunny side up eggs, smoked bacon and smashed potatoes;

  • Deviled Eggs: Mission fig, fried shallot and calabrese pepper.

  • Grilled Cheese: Comte, dry jack, fromage blanc, smoked bacon and a sunny side up egg.

Side dishes include:

  • smoked bacon

  • stone ground grits

  • Windy Hill Farm sausage

  • two eggs

  • housemade biscuits.

Specialty cocktails begin at noon:

  • Mimosa Your Way (sparkling wine with choice of prickly pear or passion fruit)

  • Kombucha Moscow Mule (vodka, kombucha, fresh ginger and lime)

You can also select a classic Bloody Mary, sangria or from an assortment of beer and wine. Of course, there’s also regular coffee, espresso and cold brew.

We’ll see you at pancakes time.
