Chatfield woman killed after crash with skid loader Monday

Sep. 29—CHATFIELD, Minn. — An 82-year-old Chatfield woman was killed after a skid loader crashed into her on Monday, Sept. 25, according to Chatfield Police Chief Shane Fox.

Sandra "Sandy" Hulbert was hit by a man in a skid loader that was clearing landscape off a Chatfield property when he backed up into the street and crashed into her, Fox said.

Fox warned the public to stay away from construction equipment on the street.

"They're big vehicles with very little line of site," he said. "It's like driving a sports car, you don't see very well out of them either."

No charges related to the incident are expected to be filed.

Visitation will be from 5-6:30 p.m., followed by a celebration of life at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 5, at Calvary Baptist Church in Chatfield. Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, Minnesota.
