DAVIDSON COUNTY — Anyone looking for something to do this weekend in Davidson County will have their pick of a wide range of activities.

Want to paint bowls that will be used in a fundraiser to feed those in need in our community? Want to listen to a hometown band rock out tunes while enjoying locally made wine? Check Heck, there is even a cruise in from those who enjoy looking at anything on wheels.

Check out these five things to do in Davidson County this weekend.

1. Music and wine

Davidson County-based band Vi Mae Drive will perform from 2-4 p.m. Feb. 19 at Junius Lindsay Vineyard. "...We love our hometown and enjoy playing tunes for our friends and family. Our genre of music is Americana and we offer several great hits from Southern Rock, country, '80s, and today's hits," according to information on the band's Facebook page. The venue is located at 385 Dr. Zimmerman Road.

2. Heathen music

The Alibi in Thomasville will host a performance by The Low Down Dirty Heathens from 9 p.m. Feb. 18 to 1 a.m. Feb. 19. The band is based in Eagle Springs, N.C. The Alibi is located at 28 Salem St.

3. Pick, paint and help

You can take part in a Pick & Paint Session of ceramic bowls at Memorial United Methodist Church in Thomasville from 10 a.m.-noon Feb. 18. You will be able to paint it, stamp it and decorate it any way you like. Your artwork will be dipped in a clear glaze and fired to make it glossy and food safe. Someone will choose your specially signed creation at the Empty Bowls Dinner, enjoy soup in it and take it home with them to cherish. The dinner, to be held at a later date, raises money to feed those in need in the community. The cost for pick and paint is $10-$14, depending on your chosen style and size. 4. Engine hype

Thunder Road Cruise In will happen from 2-5 p.m. Feb. 19 in the parking lot at the Midway Music Hall and Event Center. No entry fee is charged. Everyone is invited to bring their favorite car, truck, motorcycle or race car to show. The center is located at 11141 Old U.S. Highway 52 in Winston-Salem (northern Davidson County.)

5. Winter Farmers Market

Find fresh, local seasonal produce, meat, baked goods, craft, and more at the Davidson County Winter Markets from noon-3 p.m. Feb. 18. in the corner warehouse at Bull City Ciderworks. The markets will occur on select Saturdays through April. Bull City is located at 599 S. Railroad St. in the Historic Depot District in Lexington.
