A San Francisco condominium in the beautifully restored Edwardian building where rock legend Janis Joplin lived is for sale for $1.795 million.

The picturesque building at 1049 Pine St. contains three flats, with Joplin having lived and entertained in the top-floor home in the 1960s. The address provided an easy walk for her to the famous Fillmore concert venue.

Ric Rocchiccioli of Compass, a co-listing agent with Callista Shepherd, said the owners of the upper unit in the building, which is not for sale, told him they met members of the band Jefferson Starship a few years ago in an airport. The rockers recalled how they partied in the apartment when Joplin lived there, Rocchiccioli said.

The 2,163-square-foot middle flat below Joplin’s historic condo is for sale. Built in 1906, the condominium has three bedrooms, one full and one half bathroom. Vintage details of the home include coved ceilings, curved bay windows and refinished hardwood floors. The chef’s kitchen features custom cabinets, quartz counters with marble herringbone backsplash and a separate pantry.

“As you enter, step into a formal entry foyer opening into a front and second parlor separated by pocket doors creating a flexible floorplan perfect for entertaining or tailor it to meet your quiet enjoyment,” the official property listing states.

Three fireplaces can be found in the living room, primary bedroom and formal dining.

A private back deck opens to a common landscaped patio garden and gazebo.
