Midnight Run began in 1984 bringing together volunteers and the homeless poor. The volunteers then drive three to five carloads of items to NYC where they deliver food, toiletries and clothes to the needy.

Hank Bell in the Banana Bob 6000 and Ian Hwangbo in the Miankee New York Yankees car compete July 2 in the Soap Box Derby on Main Street in Dobbs Ferry. This event, not held in the village since 1973, was part of the 150th anniversary celebration over the 4th of July holiday weekend. Other activities included a trivia pub crawl, carnival at the waterfront, an ice cream party and celebrating the businesses in the downtown area.

Jessica Galen, the owner and head cheesemonger of Bloomy Cheese & Provisions in Dobbs Ferry, is pictured in her shop July 13, 2023. Here she is holding some Cabot Clothbound cheese from Vermont. The brick and mortar store has been in the village since November 2022, and the shop carries a variety of food items and local and imported food related products.

Gina Elbert, the children's librarian at the Dobbs Ferry Public Library, leads the Toddler Stretch and Sing Story-time program July 11. The program sees about 10 to 20 families participate in the event.

Denise Knauer and John Duffy from Cortlandt Manor enjoy a pre-concert picnic July 5 at the Waterfront Park in Dobbs Ferry. The music lovers visit various venues in the county to enjoy live music and have been attending the music series sponsored by Jazz From Arts in Dobbs Ferry for over 15 years.

Blanca Sckell and Iris Hiskeyarno work on setting up a trellis made from recycled fence gates July 1 at the Roots and Wings Kitchen Garden at South Presbyterian Church in Dobbs Ferry. Other members working in the background include Els van der Bosch, Judy Leipzig, Nick Herring and Laura Yahr. The garden, in about its tenth year, maintains seven plots from April to October and donates half of the produce to the church food pantry. They are proud that plenty of the materials used in the garden fall under the reduce, reuse, recycle principle.

David Solazzo, right, a nine-year employee of Sam's Italian Restaurant in Dobbs Ferry, chats July 7 with regular customers Elisa and Frank Rocco from Scarsdale. The restaurant has been a staple on Main Street in the village since 1952. It has been owned and operated by Maurice Giliberti for 37 years.

The Jazz Forum Arts 23rd Annual Dobbs Ferry Music Series is a popular music venue on the Hudson River, that attracts music lovers from all parts of the region. Jazz Forum Arts presents 32 weeknight evening concerts at 5 Hudson River Parks in Westchester County. Other members of the band in close Jerry Weldon tenor saxophone, Joe Magnarelli on trumpet and Jason Tiemann on drums.
