Check out football stats after playoff openers for NIC-10 and all Rockford-area teams

The football season has reached the second round of the playoffs, giving the top teams a chance to pad their stats even more.

Three consecutive 200-yard rushing games has not only moved Adrian Palos to the top of the NIC-10 rushing list but to No. 4 all-time in Harlem history at 1,311 yards in 10 games. Only Brenton Shaw (1,698 and 1,680 yards in 2015 and 2015) and Kevin Witcik (1,421 in 2012) have rushed for more yards in a season as a Huskie than Palos. His 20 rushing touchdowns are tied for 11th in single-season NIC-10 history, eight behind the record (Sam Ballano of Hononegah in 2014), and one behind Shaw's 2016 school record.

Although North Boone bowed out with a first-round loss, QB Chandler Alderman pushed his Big Northern Conference passing lead and finished the season with 1,879 yards through the air and 26 TDs. And in the NUIC, Durand/Pecatonica RB Trenton Taylor climbed up to 1,295 yards and 15 touchdowns, staying out front with his team still alive.
