Kansas City-area high school volleyball teams found the going tough at this week’s Missouri state tournaments in Cape Girardeau.
Lee’s Summit West (Class 5) and Pleasant Hill (Class 3) ended their respective seasons with victories, however, winning matches for third place on Thursday after falling in the semifinal rounds. St. Michael the Archangel (Class 4) lost a match for third and finished in fourth place.
Only Bishop LeBlond (Class 2) remains alive for a state championship entering Friday’s matches at the Show-Me Center.
