The 2024-25 Leon County Schools academic calendar is out.
It's marked with 175 days of instruction for students and 12 teacher planning days.
Here's what to know, like when the big holiday breaks are next school year:
When is the first day of school 2024 for Leon County schools?
The first day of school is Aug. 12.
Teachers will be back to work starting Aug. 2.
When is Thanksgiving break 2024 for LCS?
LCS students will be out of school starting Monday, Nov. 25 for Thanksgiving which falls on Thursday, Nov. 28.
Schools will be closed the entire week and students will return Monday, Dec. 2.
When is winter break 2024 for LCS?
Students will be out of school Dec. 23 through Jan. 7, 2025. They will return to classrooms on Wednesday, Jan. 8.
When is spring break 2025 for LCS?
Spring Break will start March 10, and last through that Friday, March 14.
Monday, March 17, students will be out of school for the teacher workday and will return Tuesday, March 18.
When is the last day of school?
Leon County Schools students will have their last day of school on Friday, May 23.
The last three days of the school year will be early release days.
