Jonathan Jones, chef and one of the owners of Epilogue Kitchen & Cocktails in downtown Salem, has been named a 2022 semifinalist for "Best Chef in the Northwest and Pacific Region" by the James Beard Foundation.

The James Beard Foundation has announced its 2023 list of award semifinalists — the food equivalent of the Oscars, and there a quite a few Oregon and Washington names on this list.

Among the best chef nominees are Crystal Platt from Eugene's Lion & Owl and Jonathan Jones from Salem's Epilogue Kitchen & Cocktails. McMinville's ōkta also made the list.

The finalists will be announced March 29 and the winners announced June 5.
