A geomagnetic storm resulted in a dazzling display of the northern lights Sunday night in 30 states, including Wisconsin.

A solar flare erupted on Friday in earth's direction, according to the NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center. As a result, the northern lights were visible from Washington to Maine.

Much of Wisconsin enjoyed clear skies that night, allowing Midwesterners to see quite the show in the sky. If you weren't able to see the northern lights, which were visible mostly in remote areas from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday night, check out these photos Wisconsinites took.
