WOOSTER − The Wayne County Performing Arts Council will present the Jonathan Rand comic trilogy “Check Please! (Take 1, 2 & 3)" at the Wayne Center for the Arts.

The play will open at 7 p.m. Friday, May 12, and continue with performances at 7 p.m. May 13, 19 and 20 and a matinee at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 21.

“Check Please!” has been the No. 1 most produced play for the last 18 school seasons, as recognized by the Educational Theatre Association. WaCPAC will present the original alongside its two sequels: "Take 2 & Take 3."

All three one-act plays follow the travails of Guy (Camron Love) and Girl (Caitlyn Howard) as they struggle to swim in a dating pool that has no lifeguard. As the story unfolds, Hank (Ryan Takko) and Kim (April Aspiras), best friends of Guy and Girl, and a host of prospective companions test the limits of the phrase “Worst. Date. Ever.” From a raging kleptomaniac (Sandy Streit), to a mime (Linda Karger), to a pirate (Braydon DuVall), to a well-intentioned stalker (Abby Webel) and more, dating has never been so insane.

Rounding out the cast, in which many members play more than one role, are Tim Breiner, Peter Gonzalez, Diann Gorsuch, Owen Murphy, Roger Stinchcomb and Lydia Tirakis.

The “Check Please!” trilogy features three directors, one for each of the one-act plays it contains. “Take 1” is directed by Jennifer Darling-Mellott, “Take 2” by Brian Luck and “Take 3” by Sutherland Singenstreu.

Tickets are on sale at the door the day of the show or at www.wacpac.org and are $15 each.
