Check out these popular LGBTQIA2S+ bars, clubs and social groups around Charlotte

The Charlotte area is home to several LGBTQIA2S+ friendly businesses, clubs and organizations. This week, one of the oldest has temporarily closed its doors.

The Scorpio, a LGBTQIA+ nightclub that’s been open since 1968, celebrated its last night Oct. 31. It closed because of new development plans, CharlotteFive previously reported.

For decades, the Charlotte nightlife spot has been a popular location for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual and two-spirit communities. The Scorpio team previously said it was in the process of searching for a new space and are hoping to reopen soon.
