Check your wallets: Mega Millions $1M winner set to expire

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Michigan Lottery is still waiting on a million-dollar winner to come forward and claim a Mega Millions prize from a draw last March.

The winning ticket was sold on March 17 at the CVS on West 10 Mile Road in Southfield. The winning ticket matched the five white balls: 26, 28, 29, 39, 49.

Mega Millions tickets are valid for one year past the drawing data, but since March 17 will fall on a Sunday, Michigan Lottery says the ticket must be claimed by the close of business on Friday, March 15. If it goes unclaimed, the money will go to the state’s School Aid Fund.

Another million-dollar prize nearly went unclaimed last year. A $1 million Powerball ticket was set to expire on Oct. 30, 2023, but a five-person lottery club from Oakland County came forward in late September to snag the prize.

There is one other major prize still waiting to be claimed, and this one is from West Michigan. A Club Keno drawing from April 30, 2023, has sat unclaimed. The winner was drawn at Vitale’s Sports Lounge in Comstock Park. The ticket is worth $250,314.

The winning numbers for that ticket are listed on the Michigan Lottery unclaimed prizes web page.
