Check out this week’s schedule of events for the 2023 Philipsburg Heritage Days
Philipsburg’s annual summertime celebration of the community is set to begin. The five-day event features band performances, a baking contest, flower show, and, of course, a parade. This year’s theme is “Be True To Your School,” which recognizes the achievements of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area School District.
Below is the schedule of events for the 2023 festival, which will be held July 11-15. For more information, visit philipsburgheritagedays.com.
Tuesday, July 11
7 p.m.: Vesper services, Cold Stream Dam Amphitheater Area
Wednesday, July 12
Hours are 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m. CenClear will have children’s activities from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on the north end of Front Street.
4:30 p.m.: P-O High School Select Choir
5:45 p.m.: Solos by Parker Scaife
7 p.m.: Watermelon eating contest, Front Street near the towers
7 p.m.: Autumn Rising, Sound Stage, corner of Front and Presqueisle streets
Thursday, July 13
Hours are 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m. CenClear children’s activities will be held from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on the north end of Front Street.
noon: Circus McGurcus by Cynthia Mazzant, VFW on Front Street. Character meet and greet at 11 a.m.
12:30 p.m.: Baking contest, Philipsburg Towers
5:30 p.m.: P-O Marching Band, Sound Stage
7 p.m.: The Moore Brothers, Sound Stage
Friday, July 14
Hours are 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m. CenClear children’s activities will be held from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on the north end of Front Street.
2-3 p.m.: gFree Church concert, Sound Stage
1-4:30 p.m.: Flower show, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Fourth and Presqueisle streets. Preregistration is encouraged.
4:30-5 p.m.: P-O Drama Club, Sound Stage
5-5:30 p.m.: Moshannon Valley YMCA Student Youth Theatre presents “Seussical the Musical,” Sound Stage
5:30-6 p.m.: Jazzercise, Sound Stage
7 p.m.: Hair Force One, Sound Stage
Saturday, July 15
Hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
2 p.m.: Grand Parade. Fire company equipment will be judged from 10 a.m. to noon at the high school.
8 p.m.: Elvis Presley and the Second Chance Band performs until fireworks, Cold Stream Pavilion
10 p.m.: Fireworks
