Assumption cross country could be ready to make run a run at a second state title in a row after dominating the Class 3A, Region Four cross country meet on Saturday at Seneca Park.

Assumption senior Reagan Gilmore won the girls race with a time of 18:31.51. Teammates Julia Schmidt (18:52.29) , Leah Penick (19:00.41) and Mabel George (19:11.71) followed directly behind her as the Rockets easily ran away with the team title.

Trinity's Eli Oetken won the boys race in 16:08.00, helping lead the Shamrocks to a team victory over Eastern, Ballard and Oldham County.

Class 3A, Region Three

Manual's Jessica Secor won the girls Class 3A, Region Three race in 18:29.06. Bailee Montgomery and Emerson Wyatt finished in the top five to cap off a dominant day for the Crimsons.

Defending state champion Sami Hattab led St. Xavier to a team victory after winning the boys race with a time of 15:37.28.

Class 2A, Region Three

North Oldham boys and girls runners shined during the Class 2A, Region Three meet. Janie Boyd (21:02.00), Vit Sensenbrenner (21:15.21) and Bethany Ward (21:20.72) placed first, second and third in the girls race at Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve.

The Mustangs were just as fast on the boys side, as Adam Patel's first-place finish led the North Oldham boys to a team victory over Spencer County, Shelby County, CAL, DeSales and Henry County.

Class A, Region Three

Kentucky Country Day senior Haley Schoenegge finished second in the Class A state meet last season and she's looked even faster this year. She won the Class A, Region Three girls race in 19:39.33 as the Bearcats narrowly took the team title over Collegiate.

Collegiate's James Gurley won the boys race in 17:06.51 but strong performances from Luke Hamilton (17:22.55) and Benjamin Bitner (17:45.69) lifted Highlands Latin to the team title.
