'Cheer' live

"Cheer," which followed cheerleaders from Navarro College and Trinity Valley Community College, became a surprise hit on Netflix. The cast of the show, including coach Monica Aldama and cheerleaders Gabi Butler, Morgan Simianer, Maddy Brum, Angel Rice, Dee Joseph, James Thomas, Jeron Hazelwood, Gillian Rupert and Cassadee Dunlap, are all set to appear when "Cheer Live" comes to Daily's Place at 7:30 p.m. Friday. $29.95-$139.95.

Juneteenth

There are Juneteenth celebrations going on all over the Jacksonville area this weekend. There is a big one at Daily's Place at 4 p.m. Saturday, with live gospel music, vendors and a youth talent showcase (free, $60 VIP). The third annual Move for Change 5K Event has vendors and entertainment from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Kingdom Plaza in the old Normandy Mall, and food trucks, a 5K race and an outdoor concert from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Seawalk Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach. A Juneteenth Emancipation Day Celebration is also planned at the Ritz Theatre, with a scholarship program and a parade on Saturday and a barbecue on Sunday.

Light my fire

The Doors only put out six studio albums during their brief career, but they left an indelible mark on rock history. Expect to hear tons of Doors classics, as well as a few obscurities, when founding guitarist Robby Krieger comes to the Florida Theatre at 8 p.m. Friday. $59.75-$69.75.

Rod Wave

When Rod Wave played a show at Daily's Place in 2021, he was rapidly rising in the hip hop world. A year later, and the Florida native is on top, with a new album, "Beautiful Mind," and a tour with Yo Gotti and Latto. They are all at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. $79-$300.

Backstreet Boys

They're still called the Backstreet Boys, even though one of them is 50 and the rest are old enough to have kids in high school. The group's DNA Tour stop at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena was supposed to happen in September 2020, then June 2021. They'll finally take the stage, with opening act Delta Goodrem, at 7:30 p.m. Monday. $146.75-$385.
