Cheer on Team USA in the World Cup at these Oshkosh bars, restaurants

OSHKOSH – The world's most-watched sporting event in the world kicked off Sunday with an estimated 7.2 million television viewers in the United States, according to the Associated Press.

If you're one of the many soccer fans in the Oshkosh area, stop by any of these local spots to find camaraderie with Team USA fans for its upcoming games.

USA plays England at 1 p.m. Friday and Iran at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29.

Here are Oshkosh-area bars and restaurants that will be hosting watch parties and specials:

Greene's Pour House at the Granary, 44 W. 6th St.

Join the Oshkosh chapter of the American Outlaws for its watch parties. Those wearing USA colors can get specials, including $12 domestic beer buckets, buy-one-get-one appetizers and $2 apple pie moonshine shots.

Greene's Pour House's Neenah location, at 134 W. Wisconsin Ave., also will have watch parties.

Dublin's Irish Pub, 2070 W. 9th Ave.

The Irish pub will show all Team USA games and is offering chances to win prizes in its "Dublin's World Cup."

Each Paulaner pilsner or Guinness pint purchased assigns you a team in the tournament; the further your team goes, the more prizes you win.

The pub is also offering a chance to win a free quarter-barrel party during the USA games. Each Paulaner and Guinness purchased is an entry into a drawing to win a quarter-barrel party during the next match.

Corner Bar & Grill, 2090 W. Ninth Ave.

Corner Bar & Grill will have specials during all the World Cup games, including buckets of five domestic beers for $12 and half-off appetizers.

Winners Sports Bar and Grill, 600 N. Main St.

Winners Sports Bar is offering several specials during World Cup matches that fall within the restaurant's hours of operation — both upcoming USA games do.

Manager Taylor Thill said his team is offering buckets of six domestic beers for $15, three-for-$10 cherry bombs and buy-one-get-one-half-off pizzas.

Thill said if USA advances, his staff will consider opening up outside of business hours for the games.

Game Time Sports Bar, 2836 Fond du Lac Road

Game Time will show both Team USA matches and is offering buckets of six domestic beers for $15.

The sports bar will also offer its regular daily specials, including $2.50 domestic tall boys and its happy hour specials from 2 to 6 p.m. every day. Those are $2 rail mixers and $2 domestic beers.

Buffalo Wild Wings, 500 S. Koeller St.

There's perhaps no place more quintessential for game day than the local B-Dubs. Oshkosh's location isn't offering any World Cup-specific specials, but it will show all the games.

Dockside Tavern, 425 Nebraska St.

Dockside Tavern will air USA's Friday match against Wales.

Though it's not offering any game-specific specials, General Manager Brian Lammey said the restaurant's Friday fish fry and soup and salad bar will be available during the game.

Dockside Tavern won't be open for Tuesday's USA game against Iran.
