Cheers to beers! Ohio Pint Day returns on Tuesday at these Northeast Ohio breweries

Craft beer fans rejoice! Ohio Pint Day returns on Tuesday.

Over 180 breweries across the Buckeye State, including Portage County libation manufacturers Bell Tower Brewing Co. and North Water Brewing Co., are involved this year.

Since 2020, Ohio Pint Day has been a way for hopheads to show their support for the state's craft brewers with the purchase of a limited-edition collectible pint glass sold through participating brew houses. Customers can buy the glass by itself, or filled with their beer of choice, with $1 of their purchase donated to the Ohio Craft Brewers Association (OCBA).

Over 13,000 of these glasses will be available state wide.

Bell Tower, located at 310 Park Ave. in Kent, isn't open on Tuesdays, so it will begin offering this year's limited edition glass on Thursday at $5 per glass, or full of a beer of choice for $3 plus the cost of the drink. Bell Tower is open Thursday through Sunday with variable hours that can be found online.

Users of the Ohio On Tap brewery passport app can receive a bonus passport stamp by purchasing an Ohio Pint Day glass. Submitting a selfie with your glass beginning Tuesday through Sunday earns you the stamp.

Each year, the Ohio Craft Brewers Association selects an artist to design the glassware. Last year's featured artist was Jessica Greving.

This year's designer, Juan Vergara, is co-owner of Willoughby's Pulpo Beer Co. In his artist's statement about the design, he explains that his inspiration for this year's design was the solidarity inherent in the industry.

"With every struggle the hospitality industry has been through in the past couple of years and as it continues to this day, we shall never forget that [by] lending a helping hand between all of us and sharing our misfortunes and accomplishments we can all survive and overcome," Vergara wrote.

Bridget Tipton, one of Bell Tower's co-founders, said the Kent brewery is excited to participate.

"We love how collaborative the craft beer community is and how supportive the OCBA is of the industry," Tipton wrote in an email to the Record-Courier. "Plus, it gets wide recognition to an artist, and is a well designed, colorful glass with a great message — solidarity."

A multitude of Ohio breweries are involved with this year's Pint Day, the full list of which can be found on the OCBA website.
