Cheers! A local craft brewery is coming to Fountain Square 🍻
A local craft brewery is opening a second location in the heart of downtown Cincinnati.
March First Brewing and Distilling is taking over the former Rock Bottom Brewing space on Fountain Square, with plans to open a restaurant, bar and tasting room. The brewery, which signed a lease for the space with building owner Fifth Third Bancorp, plans to open by the end of 2022 or early 2023.

Josh Engel, marketing manager for March First, said Fifth Third Bancorp approached the brewery about opening a new location in the space. Engel said it's a really good fit for the brand's expansion goals.
"A lot of people are going to be traveling Downtown for events or coming in from out of town for conferences and things like that. It's just kind of a way for us to showcase everything that we do and can present it to a larger audience that comes Downtown," Engel said.

The Fountain Square location will feature all March First craft brands, including Woodburn Brewing, FigLeaf Brewing and Astra Hard Seltzers. It will also provide an extensive lunch and dinner menu, and a Cincinnati Distilling bourbon bar.
Details about the menu and grand opening have yet to be announced.
According to Engel, the building owners are currently renovating the space for March First. They will section off part of the space for another business and convert the back of the building into a tasting room.
"What people can expect is what they know and love about March First. But also bringing in the other family of brands to explore the best of what each brand has to offer and being able to enhance the food options that we're already known for," Engel said.
