Cheers! Popeye's to reopen while Erie joints are all in on holiday drinks, events and spirits

Popeye's

The popular fried chicken franchise's 2600 W. 12th St. location will open under new management Wednesday, Dec. 21, and will be open daily thereafter from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to the Erie County Department of Health, which issued the license for the restaurant Dec. 7. The restaurant has been closed since July. It originally opened in July 2018.

Rosco's

The sports bar at 4646 Buffalo Road, will dress up for a Roaring 20's-style New Year's Eve Party, serving prime rib, hors d'oeuvres, Champagne toast, live music and more. The party is $40 per person and $70 per couple. For information, visit facebook.com/roscoserie, or call 814-315-9615.

Skunk & Goat Tavern

The restaurant, at 17 W. Main St., North East, will host the Miller Mistletoe 1-mile run/walk in downtown North East Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. The proceeds go to support two North East High School seniors who have lost their parents. Downtown Erie Holiday Shop Small Market

The pop-up market will offer lots of local vendors for holiday shopping inside the Boston Store at 716 State St. Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. The Local Lovin pop-up shop takes place somewhere different the first Saturday of every month, usually from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Find information at https://bit.ly/locallovingerie. This installment will provide baked goods from local bakery Sundae.

Andora's Bubble Tea

Andora's is offering $1 off every order with an ice skating stamp from the rink in Perry Square. The rink is open Monday through Friday, 5 to 8 p.m.; Saturdays, noon to 8 p.m.; and Sundays noon to 5 p.m. all winter.

Primanti Bros. Restaurant and Bar is partnering with Slippery Rock, PA-based brewer North Country Brewing to produce its first ever, unique-to-Primanti’s, beer ― Almost Famous Red Ale. The new brew was scheduled to be on tap Wednesday.

Almost Famous Red Ale features specially roasted malts, and a light and drinkable flavor that finishes with a subtle sweet caramel note. The ale will be available in Primanti Bros.’ 23-ounce pours for just $2.50 during Happy Hour. The new beer is also part of a combo ― paired with Primanti Bros.’ Pitts-burger ― for $9.99 during all hockey games.

Bar Ronin
