Cheerwine creates ‘Carolinas ‘Cue Tour’

Few things in the Carolinas go together like a plateful of smoked pork and an ice-cold Cheerwine.

This summer, the iconic Salisbury-based brand has created a road trip for Cheerwine and barbecue enthusiasts that includes more than a dozen stops in North Carolina and South Carolina.

Restaurants along the 870-mile Carolinas ‘Cue Tour will be offering unique Cheerwine-themed dishes and drinks such as Cheerwine-infused burnt ends, cocktails and slushies. See below for a list of restaurants and some of the items that will be offered.

In addition, from now through the end of July, Cheerwine will be giving away weekly prizes, including barbecue from participating restaurants, Cheerwine products and items from other popular brands such as Blackstone Products, Bojangles and QuikTrip. “Cheerwine and barbecue together are known as the ‘Southern handshake,’” said Joy Ritchie Harper, vice-president of marketing for Cheerwine and fifth-generation founding family member. “In addition to being a refreshing sidekick to a plate of pulled pork, Cheerwine’s sweet cherry notes make it a perfect ingredient. Amateur cooks to seasoned pit masters have incorporated Cheerwine into their smoked meats, barbecue sauces, sides and drinks for generations.”
