The Akron Zoo has added a pair of webcams so animal lovers can gander from afar.

The webcams can be accessed through a partnership with zoolife that is billed as the world's first interactive virtual zoo.

The pair of animal enclosures at the Akron Zoo that can be watched on the subscription-based site are the resident grizzly bears and red wolves.

Cameras have been set up so subscribers can remotely view the happenings within the zoo's enclosures where bears Jackson and Cheyenne and red wolves Manny, Poco and Hawk call home. The cameras can pan and zoom in.

Akron joins the Toronto Zoo, the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago and the Santa Barbara Zoo in California that have installed similar cameras.
