Cheesecake Factory will replace this Barnes & Noble on north side of the Metroplex

The Metroplex is getting a seventh Cheesecake Factory restaurant in time for Christmas.

State records filed this week show the company plans to start building a $6 million new location in The Shops at Highland Village, which is in Denton County near Flower Mound, Lewisville and Argyle. The restaurant will replace Barnes & Noble Booksellers in the outdoor shopping center.

It which will join other Cheesecake Factory locations in downtown Fort Worth, Southlake, Arlington, North Dallas, Allen and Frisco.

The notice filed with the state says the new Cheesecake Factory will go into an existing building. The address is 4100 Deer Creek, Suite 100, which is currently the Barnes & Noble Booksellers. The shopping center also has a Whole Foods and the AMC Highland Village 12 movie theater.

Barnes & Noble confirmed Wednesday that it will be vacating its current space in the shopping center.

“We are actively looking for a new location and hope to find one soon,” a Barnes & Noble spokesperson said. “In the meantime we are open for business and trading as normal in the store.”

A rep for The Shops at Highland Village did not immediately respond to the Star-Telegram.

The new Cheesecake Factory will be 11,370 square feet, which would be more than 2,000 square feet bigger than the Sundance Square location in downtown Fort Worth that opened in late 2014.

The company has 18 restaurants in Texas and 318 throughout the U.S and Canada, including its North Italia brand.
