Cheesecake Factory plans to open at Lehigh Valley Mall
A national restaurant chain is preparing to make its Lehigh Valley debut.
Lehigh Valley Mall said Monday that The Cheesecake Factory is planning to open this year. The restaurant in Whitehall has placed job ads for restaurant and kitchen manager positions.
“The Cheesecake Factory is pleased to open our first greater Lehigh Valley location at Lehigh Valley Mall later this year,” said David Overton, founder and CEO of The Cheesecake Factory Inc. “Lehigh Valley Mall is a wonderful property and we look forward to opening there and serving guests from the local area.”
The chain has yet to open in Bucks County, but has locations nearby in Lawrenceville and Cherry Hill, NJ, Willow Grove, King of Prussia and Philadelphia.
The new full-service restaurant will take up more than 8,900 square feet for indoor dining and more than 1,200 square feet for patio dining at the mall.
The Cheesecake Factory was founded as a bakery in Los Angeles more than 50 years ago. It opened its first restaurant location in 1978 in Beverly Hills, California.

It is known, of course, for its cheesecake, but also offers more than 250 other items on its menu. The company says on its website that its food is “fresh and from scratch in each restaurant.”
“Lehigh Valley Mall is thrilled to have The Cheesecake Factory join our dining community,” said Elizabeth DiDuca, Lehigh Valley Mall’s director of marketing and business development. “The addition of the new, fan-favorite restaurant will allow us to deliver a unique and memorable dining experience for our guests to enjoy during their visit to the center.”
The Cheesecake Factory has more than 200 locations in the U.S. and eight foreign countries.
