As Captain Glenn Shephard reflected on the final charter of the season during the June 20 episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, he took a moment to praise Chef Marcos Spaziani’s work. “Marcos, you had some of the most challenging dietary restrictions and a wedding cake,” he said. With a laugh, he added, “All I can say is please, please never leave.”

Like most of the crew, Marcos did eventually depart Parsifal III on the show’s finale episode, and it’s no surprise that his culinary career is continuing to thrive outside of the galley. “My life right now is crazy,” Marcos shared on the June 27 Season 3 reunion. “I opened a restaurant in downtown L.A. I opened a bar, and I [will] open another restaurant in two months in Koreatown.”

Additionally, Marcos explained that he now has “a contract with UCLA,” adding, “That’s what I’m doing right now, cooking for 1,600 people per day. So, yeah, I’m pretty booked all the time.”

During the reunion, which took place during an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the titular host asked Glenn, “Is Marcos one of the best chefs you’ve ever worked with?” and the captain had nothing but rave reviews to share. “Absolutely,” he said. “The guy’s a legend. He pushes himself so hard, but he can hold it together... Amazing chef, amazing food, amazing guy.”

Colin MacRae had similar feelings and specifically shouted out one particular guest dinner: Marcos’ take on molecular gastronomy. “He blew my mind. That s--t’s not easy. I haven’t seen anything like that on a yacht before.”
