Chehaw's Black Jack casino event a 'hit'

Sep. 24—ALBANY — More than 125 people turned out to gamble for a good cause at Chehaw Park and Zoo's first Black Jack and Black Rhinos casino night. The event raised $2,100 for the International Rhino Foundation as well as money for other conservation and educational initiatives.

"It went really well for our first," Tommy Gregors, executive director of the Artesian Alliance, which manages Chehaw, the Flint RiverQuarium and Thronateeska Heritage Center, said.

"We're looking at the date for next year. It'll be a signature event for Chehaw."
